Transforming Citizen Engagement through Civic Tech

GunduaInfo Mobile App is a growing Kenyan digital democracy tool developed and owned by the Center for Transformational Leadership (CTL).

The app is designed to

Promote inclusive governance

Strengthen civilian oversight 

Facilitate citizen access to public information

Make governance convenient for citizens

Citizens need to engage meaningfully in civic matters to realize their aspirations, but various gaps stand in their way. We developed the GunduaInfo Mobile App to address these gaps. The app therefore exists to: 

Close the feedback loop

Make public budgets transparent and accessible to citizens

Bring convenience to citizen engagement 

Facilitate timely access to public participation information 

Promote objective engagement between citizens and county governments

Amplify citizen voices in project implementation

GunduaInfo Mobile App is currently being piloted in Nakuru County with the budget module. Other modules, like elections and climate change are under development, and plans for expanding  geographic scope are underway.
